Before founding Building Appraisers & Consultants, Rodger Jones earned his Florida general contracting license in 1986. His experience in the building industry formed the foundation of the knowledge and keen insight he later applied to the insurance appraisal field. 

His goal today is to assist property owners and insurance carriers alike in navigating the often confusing world of insurance claims and insuring a fair and equitable claim compensation through appraisal.

In the beginning, his passion was simply to help homeowners build and renovate their homes. Hurricane Andrew changed all that. After helping to rebuild homes destroyed by the super-storm in August of 1992, Rodger changed gears. He followed his passion to help his community–people and businesses alike–in the wake of this devastating disaster. Combining his knowledge of building and his empathy for the owners of damaged property, Rodger embarked on a new career path. After obtaining his Florida All-Lines Adjuster license, he began to work as an independent adjuster and as an in-house staff insurance adjuster, where he learned the complex interdependent relationship between the building industry and property insurance companies. 

His experience has allowed him to work both sides of the insurance claims process–as a general contractor and as an insurance adjuster. Rodger learned to manage all types of insurance claims, from the simplest of plumbing leaks to catastrophic hurricane damage. It is this experience and knowledge that has given him the motivation to turn hard work and inspiration into what is today Building Appraisers & Consultants.
